Build it Right
Items Needed: Lego’s or blocks
Various items to use as a foundation – marshmallows, sand, rock, anything would really work
Build a small house on different foundations to see what holds up the best.
Why is it important to use the right materials for the foundation of a building? (your building won’t be sturdy if you don’t have a good foundation; your building might fall; etc.)
Why is it important that we build our lives/faith on truth? (it will help us know the right way to live; truth will make us stronger; etc.)
To build a good life, we must build on the right foundation – God and the truths He has given us in the Bible.
Six Things You Need
Paul told Timothy to choose good leaders who can help build the church. (Titus 2:1-15) He gave some qualities that they needed to have.
Write each of the following qualities on a slip of paper and take turns choosing one and acting it out. The one who guesses it gets to pick another one and act it out. They can ask others to help them if needed.
A good leader must be:
- Use sound speech
- Devoted to God
Stronger Every Day
The best way to grow in sound doctrine is to know what you believe. The best way to know what you believe is to read and memorize the Bible.
Review the Bible verse students are learning – 2 Timothy 2:15. Gather everyone in a circle. Pass the Bible from one person to the next with each one saying the next word in the verse. The person who says the last word of the verse should do some type of exercise (do 5 jumping jacks, do 4 toe touches, run in place for 30 seconds, etc.).
Read a chapter in Proverbs together to grow in wisdom!
