Our guest this week is Kim Botto. Kim shares her wealth of knowledge in the area of ministering to children who have experienced trauma in their lives. She explains who falls into the category of “vulnerable kids” and explains how love is great, but many times these children need additional strategies to heal and overcome the difficulties they’ve faced. Kim emphasizes the importance of focusing on connecting with children who display challenging behaviors before correcting them, and she also encourages the church to come alongside families that may be fostering or have adoptive children, pursuing them and building trust to where they feel comfortable leaving their child in your ministry’s care. Kim gives us strategies that she found to be successful with her own adopted children, and she points out things to consider when thinking about adoption.
